my name is jay, and I started doing pottery in 2025. I'm currently based in Melbourne Australia.

I've always dabbled in art. when I was a kid, I loved to draw, I was always sketching (usually pictures of houses or cars).

as a teenager, I became interested in interior and graphic design, but always felt frustrated by the concept of having to cater to someone else's tastes.

I sort of fell off the art creation train in my early twenties. a full time job and a potentially adhd-affected attention span meant I could never focus on anything long enough to finish.

pottery's helped me reclaim some of that artistic spark. it's challenging and painfully slow but somehow keeps me on my toes. before I can get bored, there's another step in the process, another project I want to make.
